Safari begins and ends in Nairobi

This safari covers some of the most appealing and amazing Parks in Kenya.

Guests are treated to the Kilimanjaro-boasting Amboseli National Park – overflowing with elephants, giraffe, cheetah, zebra and wildebeest.

Other amazing destinations include Naivasha, a freshwater lake, and is home to an incredible variety of bird species and the Aberdare National park located in the central part of Kenya.

Guests proceed northwards to Samburu National Reserve.

Then onwards to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is a 24,000 acre private Sweetwaters Game Reserve and home to a variety of wild game, bird-life, and exotic flora. This game sanctuary, is home to all the big five game.

Other amazing destinations include the rhinos and flamingos of Lake Nakuru National Park, the geological wonderment of the Great Rift Valley as well as the culture of the Masai Mara and wildlife species including – zebra, antelope, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena, etc.

Arrive Nairobi

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport a Gotrip Africa Representative will meet you and transfer you to your city hotel for overnight stay

Day 2
Drive from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Depart by road to Amboseli National Park after breakfast at your city hotel.

On arrival at the Amboseli, Experience your first game drive en-route to your lodge.

This Park shelters more than 420 species of birds and has enormous Elephant population and other big game attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lunch is served at the lodge, before departing for an afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge and enjoy a scrumptious dinner.

Day 3
Explore Amboseli National Park

We rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, and set off for a morning game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons.

Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another game drive in the afternoon.

Day 4
Amboseli – Drive to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, drive out of Amboseli park to Naivasha and arrive in time for lunch. You may spend the afternoon at leisure.

Naivasha is a freshwater lake, and is home to an incredible variety of bird species, it’s the second largest and the highest lake of the Central Rift Valley lakes. It’s at the center of a prosperous flower export business and being only one and a half hours from Nairobi, is a popular weekend retreat for those living in Nairobi.

Day 5
Lake Naivasha – Drive to Aberdare National Park

Depart L. Naivasha after breakfast, drive to the central part of Kenya to the Aberdare National Park. We stop for lunch at The Aberdare Country Club, nestled on the slopes of Mweiga Hill.

After high lunch, set off for the Ark Tree Lodge, located in the forest on mountain slopes of the Aberdare Mountains at 7,000 feet. This outstanding lodge offers high altitude game viewing, including animals that are rarely encountered elsewhere: Giant forest hog, Bush Pig, Tree Hyrax, Large Spotted Genet and the elusive Bongo Antelope.

Wildlife can be observed from different levels – and from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cozy.

You can put in a request to be awakened during the night if your favorite animals show up. A herd of Elephants might be just feet away and if you are lucky, a Leopard or large male Lion might put in an appearance.

Day 6
Aberdare National Park – Drive to Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast, check out and drive to the Northern Hemisphere, and onwards to the semi-arid region of the Samburu Game Reserve.

The name Samburu is of Maasai origin, a ‘samburr’ is a traditional leather bag the Masai use for carrying honey and milk. This region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year) and its red volcanic soil.

Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the river that gives life to the reserve. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, who are ‘cousins’ to the Maasai people with their own distinct cultural traditions.

Arrive at the camp or lodge in time for lunch, followed by some leisure hours for a siesta or swim before you depart for an afternoon game viewing drive, and return back to the camp or lodge before sunset.

Day 7
Explore Samburu Game Reserve

This full day in the Samburu Game Reserve will be spent searching for the big five, the Samburu five and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game viewing drives.

The park is plentiful with crocodiles that bask on muddy riverbanks and velvet monkeys that frolic in the late afternoon sun. Samburu is renowned for its rare species of fauna known as the ‘Samburu five’.

These five particular animals are usually only found north of the equator – the long necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe which is characterized by its liver-colored geometric patches defined by narrow white lines, the Grevy’s zebra which is smaller than the common zebra and looks more like a horse, the beisa oryx with black horizontal stripe running across its lower flank and the Somali ostrich males which have blue-grey necks and thighs.

A camel-back safari is a specialty in Samburu, as well as a cultural visit to the Samburu people who depend on their cattle, goat, sheep and donkey can be arranged.

Day 8
Samburu Game Reserve – Drive to Ol Pajeta Conservancy

After breakfast, depart the Northern Part of Kenya and drive to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Ol Pejeta with its huge ranch was once a private property of the famed Saudi Arabian multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.

We will then visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and refuge to over 40 species of black rhinos. Sweetwaters boasts of excellent game viewing experience with the highest ratio of game to area among any other parks or reserves in Kenya.

Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp (Luxury Tented Camp).

Day 9
Explore the Ol Pajeta Conservancy

We will have two extensive game drives exploring the exotic Sweetwaters Sanctuary. As our camp overlooks one of the best waterholes in the area, this will give us a good view of the wild life such as elephants, giraffes and myriad plains game among others.

Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp (Luxury Tented Camp).

Day 10
From Ol Pajeta Conservancy to Lake Nakuru National Park

This morning we depart Ol Pajeta Conservancy by road and proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, regarded by avid birders’ as the greatest World ornithological spectacle on the Earth. The Park is famous for its millions of pink flamingoes lining on the lake shore.

We arrive mid-morning at Lake Nakuru for a game drive en route before checking in at your lodge for Lunch. A spectacular afternoon game run is planned. The Park is also Sanctuary to the Black Rhino, White Rhino and the Rothschild Giraffe.

Bird life include common species like the lesser and Greater Flamingoes, African fish Eagle, Tawny Eagle, Green Wood Hoopoes, Cliff Chat, Great White and Pink Backed Pelicans plus other intra- African Migrants.

Day 11
Lake Nakuru – Drive to Masai Mara Game Reserve

After a leisure breakfast at your Hotel, depart over land to the Masai Mara Game Reserve–jewel of Kenya’s Game Park.

This enormous Reserve, actually part of the vast Serengeti plains, is famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is a true home of the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape Buffalo. After lunch, explore the Reserve on a late afternoon game drive.

Day 12
Explore Masai Mara Game Reserve

Morning and afternoon game drives are planned. Large mammals are varied, abundant and easy to see. Residents among the parks mammals are: Masai Giraffe, Buffalo, Impala, Zebra, Topi, both the Thomson’s and Grant’s Gazelles. Optional hot Air Balloon rides are available on this day at an additional cost.

On this final day in the Mara, visit a village of the Masai people to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. Try the Masai jump!

Day 13
Masai Mara – Drive to Nairobi

Begin today with an early morning game drive followed by a complete English breakfast at your lodge. After breakfast, depart for Nairobi arrive early afternoon. The balance of the day is at leisure for last minute assisted souvenir shopping.

Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport to catch your flight back home

End of safari.
